Below is the basic list of documents requested by the North Caucasus Halal Certification Center for voluntary certification. The final package depends on the type of products and services: it is broader for slaughter and meat-processing plants and shorter for food production without raw materials of animal origin. The more complete the package at the start, the faster the application review and the fewer findings after the audit.
Application and company details
The review starts with these documents: they identify the applicant and allow the contract to be concluded.
- Certification application in the established form.
- Annex to the application — company details with legal and contact information.
- Constituent documents: charter, OGRN and INN certificates, a current extract from the state register.
- Documents confirming the right to use the production site — title deed or lease agreement.
Product documents
This information is needed to establish the composition of the products and assess its compliance with Halal requirements.
- List of products and services submitted for certification.
- Recipes and full composition for each item — without exception, including processing aids.
- Technical specifications or standards under which the products are manufactured.
- Layouts of labels, packaging and marking, including the intended placement of the Halal conformity mark.
Raw materials, ingredients and suppliers
This is the key section: the halal status of the finished product is determined by the origin of every component.
- Documents for raw materials, ingredients, food additives and auxiliary materials.
- Information about suppliers and the country of origin of the components.
- Valid declarations of conformity, quality and safety certificates.
- For raw materials of animal origin — valid halal certificates from the supplier and veterinary accompanying documents.
Production and technology
Documents in this group describe how the process is organised and how mixing of flows is prevented.
- Brief description of the production and the services provided.
- Technological instructions, process charts or a description of the production process for each product type.
- Layout of the production site showing zones and the routes of raw materials and finished products.
- Documents on sanitary condition, storage conditions and separation of flows that exclude contact with products not meeting Halal requirements.
- Production control programme and internal quality control regulations.
Personnel
A requirement without which certification is not possible: key operations are performed by practicing Muslims.
- Information about employees engaged in slaughter and other key technological operations.
- For slaughterhouses — confirmation that slaughter is performed manually by practicing Muslims.
- Records of staff training in Halal requirements, if such training has been carried out.
How to prepare the package
It is easier to proceed step by step, so that documents do not have to be collected twice:
- Fix the list of products and services you are submitting for certification.
- Disclose the composition of each item, including additives and auxiliary materials.
- Confirm the origin of raw materials with supplier documents.
- Describe the production: technology, zones, storage and separation of flows.
- Check the marking layouts before submitting the application.
What speeds up the review
A pause usually arises not from violations but from incomplete information. Check in advance whether the composition is fully disclosed, whether supplier documents are still valid, and whether the layouts match the actual marking. If information from a supplier is missing for some component, tell us straight away — we will advise what can replace it.
